Following a flurry of transactions at the end of June, purchasing activity has slowed. On the imported billet front, rising logistics costs, port congestion, and higher insurance premiums have pushed price ranges upward to $560–$620 per tonne. This week’s key price assessments are as follows: domestic ex‑factory rebar is priced at AED 2,850–2,950 per tonne (approximately USD 776–803 per tonne), unchanged from the previous week; imported rebar CPT Jebel Ali is quoted at USD 775–800 per tonne, also unchanged week over week; and imported billets CPT Jebel Ali are priced at USD 560–560–620 per tonne, up $20 per tonne from last week’s range of $560–600 per tonne.

Following a surge in transactions at the end of June, purchasing activity has slowed. On the import side, driven by rising logistics costs, port congestion, and higher insurance premiums, the price range for billets has moved up to $560–$620 per tonne.
  This week’s key price assessments are as follows: domestic ex‑factory prices for rebar stand at AED 2,850–2,950 per tonne (approximately USD 776–803 per tonne), unchanged from the previous week; imported rebar CPT Jebel Ali is priced at USD 775–800 per tonne, also unchanged week over week; and imported billets CPT Jebel Ali are quoted at USD 560–620 per tonne, up by USD 20 per tonne from last week’s range of USD 560–600 per tonne.
 In the domestic rebar market, prices are still digesting the impact of a 160,000-ton transaction concluded at the end of June by the country’s largest steelmaker. The leading producer is quoting ex‑factory at AED 2,880 per tonne; for the week ending July 7, smaller re-rolling mills were offering around AED 2,900–2,920 per tonne.
  In the imported rebar market, prices remained steady at USD 775–800 per tonne CPT Jebel Ali, unchanged from the previous period. Market sources reported that, following Oman-based suppliers’ securing of roughly 130,000 tonnes of orders at the end of June, import quotations in Oman and Qatar have stabilized around AED 2,900 per tonne. With substantial prior purchases having largely satisfied near-term demand, buyers have adopted a more cautious stance this week.
  On the billet import market, as of July 14, import prices have moved up to a range of $560–$620 per tonne, reflecting market concerns over soaring logistics costs and disruptions to shipping. In East Asia and China, quoted and indicative prices stand at $560 per tonne CPT Jebel Ali, representing the lower end of the assessed price range.
